WE NEED VOLUNTEERS IN RECOVERY The Council is currently looking for a few individuals in recovery (a minimum of one year sober) that are willing to assist our counseling staff in taking our patients out to AA/NA meetings. Men’s Residential Rehabilitation Program needs people on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday mornings for 2-3 hours. Women’s Residential Services needs people on Saturday mornings for 2-3 hours. Volunteers would have to agree to drug testing, getting a 2 step TB Test and attending an orientation program. If interested please contact Human Resource at 708-647-3303
THE COUNCIL’S VOLUNTEER PROGRAM!! The primary role of a Council volunteer is to share the message of hope and recovery with the patients in treatment, while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Other volunteer responsibilities include sharing your “story” with the patients, reassuring them that entering treatment is a step in the right direction, listening to a patient in detox and comforting a “1st” timer. Requirements: To be accepted as a volunteer an individual must agree to the following: 1. Attend the Council Volunteer Orientation Program 2. Submit to a Drug Test 3. Complete a 2-step TB Test All volunteers must have a minimum of one year of sobriety if in recovery, attend 12 step meetings and have a sponsor.
