VOLUNTEER SERVICES

WELCOME TO THE COUNCIL’S VOLUNTEER PROGRAM!!

The primary role of a Council volunteer is to share the message of hope and recovery with the patients in treatment, while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Other volunteer responsibilities include sharing your “story” with the patients, reassuring them that entering treatment is a step in the right direction, listening to a patient in detox and comforting a “1st” timer.

Requirements:

To be accepted as a volunteer an individual must agree to the following:

1.      Attend the Council Volunteer Orientation Program

2.      Submit to a Drug Test

3.      Complete a 2-step TB Test

All volunteers must have a minimum of one year of sobriety if in recovery, attend 12 step meetings and have a sponsor.

If interested in finding out what our volunteer program is all about attend the next informational meeting.  For the next meeting date please call Human Resource at 708-647-3303.
