Position Available:
Residential
Counselor - Men's Residential QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree (Bachelors/Masters Degree Preferred) in Behavioral Health or related field. Must have Illinois Certification in substance abuse or become certified within two years of working in the chemical dependency field; plus one or more years experience in behavioral health or chemical dependency preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of the disease of alcoholism/addiction and its application to patient care. Must have valid drivers license and minimal auto insurance. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Good organizational skills, ability to use logical thinking to solve problems. Good short-term memory, good verbal communication skills, ability to provide and follow effective written and verbal instructions. Ability to effectively monitor and develop subordinates when applicable. Ability to successfully complete training and perform C.P.R. Ability to perform light physical work exerting up to ten pounds of force on an occasional basis. Sitting, standing and walking short distances are activities that the Residential Addiction Counselor must perform. Full-Time, Benefits Eligible, SMOKE FREE. EEO.
